Friendly service
We believe in friendly customer service - we're here to help you in any way we can. That might mean carrying your plants to your car and helping you load them; helping you choose the right plant for your garden or a gift for someone special; or bringing you your meal in the coffee shop.
We're here to help, but if you just want to take your time, that's fine, too - we'll leave you in peace to look round.
History
Okells is, and always has been, an independent family business. We began as a traditional nursery, growing all sorts of trees, shrubs and heathers, and selling to both the public and horticultural trades. In the 1980's we opened the garden centre, and in recent years we've added the gift shop and the kitchen and furniture showroom.
But we're still garden specialists - our plants and trees are top-quality specimens that will give you years of enjoyment. We'll help you choose the right plant for your garden, and advise you how to look after it once it's planted.
Easy to get to, easy to get around
We're easy to find, on the A51 south-east of Chester. And once you're here, it's easy to get around. Okells is all on one level, with good hard surfaces. It's ideal for mums with young children, or for people who find walking less easy these days.
There's lots of on-site car parking close to the entrance, with an allocated disabled space.
We have our own wheelchairs ready to use, if you can't bring your own, and we're happy to help if you need a hand getting around or carrying anything.
